Family: Acanthuridae (Surgeonfishes, tangs, unicornfishes)
Max. size: 60 cm
Depth: 1 - 50 metres
Diet: Omnivorous, often feeds on zooplankton
Habitat: Deep lagoons, seaward reefs, upper regions of deep drop-offs
Distribution: Indo-pacific:  East Africa to French Polynesia and Hawaii, north to southern Japan, and south to the southern Great Barrier Reef and New Caledonia. Eastern Pacific: Galapagos Islands.
