Close-up of a Brown-spotted Spinefoot (Stellate Rabbitfish) hovering in perfect stillness over the reef. The brown spots on greenish-grey skin give an almost 3D effect in the still waters. Rabbitfish are herbivorous, found mostly in shallow waters where there is rich algae growth on the corals as they feed on benthic algae growing on the reef. They are nervous fish with venomous spines which they use for defence. Their sting is not fatal to humans however it can cause severe pain.
Individually crafted - we take pride in our unique collection of underwater photography. Our high quality photo prints featuring pictures of tropical fish are printed individually to order.
