Mute Swan - Quintet of cygnets
Mute Swan - Quintet of cygnets
Mute Swan Cygnets feeding on pondweed amongst the reeds of a gently rippling pond whilst their parent stays within the reeds, watching over them. Mute swans in freshwater environments feed on pondweed, stonewort, wigeon grass, tadpoles and insects. However swans living in salt water have an entirely different diet, feeding on arrow grass, salt marsh grass, green algae, insects and molluscs.
