Hawksbill Sea Turtle swimming gracefully over the corals within a shallow tropical reef, giving a close-up view of its elongated tapered head and beak-like mouth. The name of the Hawksbill Sea Turtle is derived from its narrow head with a hawk-like beak. Hawksbill Sea Turtles spend most of their time in shallow lagoons and coral reefs though they can also be found in a wide range of habitats such as mangrove swamps and estuaries. They also migrate across open ocean, swimming methodically and gracefully through tropical waters, as they normally inhabit a wide range of environments during the course of their lifespan.
