Blacktip Reef Sharks prefer shallow, inshore waters and reef ledges though they have been seen in the brackish waters of estuaries and even freshwater environments. They hunt during the day, feeding on small tropical fish such as mullet, wrasse and surgeonfish. Blacktip Reef Shark grow to 1.6 metres and are found throughout the shallow waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. They are regarded as a Near Threatened species due to overfishing. Blacktip Reef Shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus).
