Levant Sparrowhawk perched within a desert palm. Levant Sparrowhawks are small raptors with short broad wings and a longish tail, both features adaptations for manoeuvring through trees. Levant Sparrowhawks are generally found in lowland forests along rivers and streams in Southeastern Europe through to Russia. During the winter they migrate to the warmer climates of Egypt and across to Iran. Levant Sparrowhawk (Accipiter brevipes).
