Young Heavybeak parrotfish, not much bigger than the powder blue surgeonfish behind, nibbling on Acropora coral in the reef shallows. Juveniles are usually solitary, forming into schools when adults and growing up to 70cm in length.

Habitat: Reef edges, adults often in schools

Distribution: Indian Ocean: East Africa to southwest Indonesia, north to the Andaman Sea.
