The Borneo Pygmy Elephant are a distinct subspecies, found only in the rainforest and riverside of Borneo. The Pygmy Elephants of Borneo are considered to be the cutest of elephants due to their baby like features, larger than normal ears and extra long tail. Elephant calves are able to walk an hour or two after they are born, but continue to nurse from their mothers for the first six months of their lives, after which they forage for vegetation alongside their mother.
