Undulated Moray and a vibrantly glorious Spanish Dancer (nudibranch) within a diversity of reef life

Undulated moray striking out from its lair amongst an amazing array of reef life including sponges, soft corals and a spanish dancer. Undulated moray eels can be found hiding amongst rocks and rubble or lurking in caves along reef drop-offs, emerging whenever they sense possible prey passing by. They frequently share caves or hiding places with other species of Moray eel.

Max. size: 150 cm
Diet: Fish, octopi, crustaceans
Habitat: Reef flats amongst rocks and rubble, lagoons, reef drop-offs
Depth: 9 - 110 metres
Distribution: Indo-Pacific: Red Sea including Walters Shoal to French Polynesia, north to southern Japan and the Hawaiian Islands, south to the southern Great Barrier Reef. Eastern Central Pacific: Costa Rica and Panama.
